Triggerman is the moniker of Edmonton-based designer, Mark Yiu. Through strategic thinking, defined processes and flawless execution, Triggerman is dedicated to creating great user experiences.

biography

With nearly a decade of experience in the design of traditional and interactive media, Mark possesses a unique set of creative skills ranging from digital media development and video editing to e-learning courseware production, print design and brand development. His special interests in user-centred design, communication theory and visual storytelling inform his contributions to design and content development.

Currently, Mark is the Director of Design & Usability for Top Draw, an Edmonton-based creative agency where he concentrates on user-centred design, best practices in web usability and the development of measurable online strategies. A graduate from the University of Alberta, Mark holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. Accolades during this time include the Business Council for the Visual Arts Scholarship, the Design Merit Award, and the Jason Lang Scholarship from the Department of Art and Design.

Mark has also served as a teaching assistant within the Department of Art & Design at the University of Alberta, and as an instructor at MacEwan College through the Design Studies and Arts Outreach programs.

At Triggerman Design, we are committed to creating memorable user experiences through client collaboration and powerful visual storytelling. As ‘communication hitmen’, we provide our clients with the creative online solutions needed to resolve their unique communication problems. While our solutions are varied, we hold true to two tenets for success:

1. Tell a story. We believe in the infectious power of a great story. As a result, we help companies refine theirs into one that people want to hear.

2. Design with purpose. We believe that good design tells a story, serves a function and accomplishes an objective. Great design does all three. To achieve this, we identify a target, plan for success, and execute with precision.
